are you a partner of a large public accounting firm preparing to present to
the board audit committee members, CEO, CFO, and controller of a public
company in connection with a request for proposal (RFP) for the annual
financial statement audit? Your firm presently does not perform the audit and
your firm is one of two finalists. Convince the audience that it should award
the contract to you. You should discuss your firm’s qualifications, industry
experience, services, fees, audit approach, audit staff who will service the
account, planned use of the client’s internal audit staff, and other matters you
believe are important. Also, comment on value-added services that your firm
typically provides in a management letter. Convince the audit committee and management
that your audit firm is the best choice.
