Purpose of this Discussion

This assignment will be a little more fun. One key factor to finding and highlighting your strengths or recognizing and strengthening your weaknesses is understanding how you function as an individual. While personality tests don’t tell us who we are 100% accurately, they do create a guide that we can use to help understand our strengths, weaknesses, and, most importantly, how we can work most efficiently with those around us. 

For this assignment, you’ll be taking the Myers Briggs (MBTI) Personality Test, learning more about your personality type and how it impacts you in a work environment, and then sharing what stands out the most to you with the rest of the class through the discussion board. 

Instructions

In your post this week, follow the steps listed below to create your prompt:

1. Watch BOTH of the two following videos on the Myers-Briggs test:

2. Take the following free MBTI test example to find your personality type indicator. 

1. The Type Finder Personality TestLinks to an external site.

2. This test may look daunting at first but it only takes 10-15 minutes to complete. 

3. If you’ve already taken the Myers-Briggs test, retake the quiz for the sake of this assignment. 

4. At the end of your quiz, you’ll receive your type indicator on a screen that looks like the following:

3. Once you have your four-letter type indicator (EX: ENTJ), go to the following website, scroll down the page, and click on your indicator type.

2. Read through the Explore This Type menu options on the left side of your indicator page to see what the test says about you

REMEMBER! This assignment is for exploitative insight. Take what it says with a grain of salt. The analysis may be spot on or may not be correct at all. That’s okay. 

4. Create a post including the following:

1. Share your personality type with the class.

2. Give a brief description of what your personality type is.

3. What characteristics did you feel describe you well? 

4. What characteristics did you feel weren’t accurate?

5. How does this change the way you will look at working or solving problems?

Reply to at least 3 classmates by relating commonalities or what you found interesting about their posts. 

1. Responses will consist of at least 4 sentences to receive full points. 

Canvas only allows one due date for discussion boards, so I have chosen to show the final due date.

1. Your initial post is due Friday at 11:59 pm. 
2. Responses to three peers are due on Sunday at 11:59 pm.
